IV Therapy Certification in Orlando for LPNs and RNs
In Florida, you must be a licensed nurse to give IV therapy. LPNs take this 30-hour course to earn that ability (Rule 64B9-12.005).
Get IV certified in about 2 weeks: 14 hours of online theory, then 16 hours of hands-on lab under RN supervision at our Orlando campus.

Get IV Certified in Orlando in 2 Weeks
Already a licensed nurse, or finishing your practical nursing program? Our IV therapy course adds the one skill Florida law requires before an LPN can start an IV. You complete the theory online at your own pace, then prove your skills hands-on in our Orlando lab, under the direction of a registered nurse. Built to meet Florida Board of Nursing Rule 64B9-12.005.
How the Hybrid Course Works
IV therapy is a hands-on skill, so it cannot be learned entirely online. Our hybrid format gives you the flexibility of online theory and the real practice Florida requires: 14 hours of self-paced coursework, then 16 hours of in-person lab where you start real IVs and a registered nurse verifies your competency.
Self-Paced Online Theory
Work through 14 hours of didactic content on our platform, on your schedule: legal scope, fluids and electrolytes, equipment, complications, and drip calculations.
Hands-On Campus Lab
Come to our Orlando campus for 16 hours of in-person lab: site selection, venipuncture, IV setup and maintenance, and managing complications on real equipment.
Supervised Hands-On Practice
Your lab includes 12 hours of supervised, hands-on practice where a registered nurse checks that you are competent, exactly what Rule 64B9-12.005 requires.
