FHCA Medical Assistant Program Details
You already know phlebotomy and EKG from your previous program with us. As a Medical Assistant, you will add patient interactions, clinical duties beyond the lab, and the administrative side of a healthcare practice. Our curriculum is built around real-world scenarios so the additional modules slot in naturally on top of what you already do well.
Patient Interactions
Provide patients with information on medications, treatments, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Clinical Duties
Assist with vital signs, medical histories, exams, sample collection, and stocking supplies.
Admin Tasks
Help with preparation and organization, appointment scheduling, insurance and billing, and documentation.
Class Schedules Available for Graduates
You join the same regular Medical Assistant class schedule, just starting at the module where your transferred credits leave off. Phlebotomy graduates skip the phlebotomy module. EKG graduates skip the EKG module. Graduates of both programs skip both modules and finish in even less time. You attend one class per day, choosing morning, afternoon, or evening on weekdays, or Saturday mornings.

What You’ll Learn in the Medical Assistant Program
The full Medical Assistant program is 700 hours across 3 modules of classroom and hands-on training. With your Phlebotomy or EKG module already credited, your remaining hours drop to roughly 510 to 520 with one program completed, or about 330 with both. After completion, you’ll be ready for the CCMA exam and prepared to work as a certified Medical Assistant.
How to read this table as a graduate: Module I = EKG, Module II = Phlebotomy, Module III = Medical Assistant core. EKG graduates skip Module I, Phlebotomy graduates skip Module II, and graduates of both programs only complete Module III.

Requirements to Enroll in Our Medical Assistant Program in Orlando
🎓 Education: A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent will be needed.
👤 Age: All Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
🆔 Prerequisites: FHCA Phlebotomy or EKG alumni status, Valid Photo ID, Social Security number, and a $200 deposit.
Medical Assistant Program Certification
Upon graduation, you can take the National CCMA Certification exam at our approved facility. Your tuition covers your first attempt at this exam. Additional attempts, along with the EKG and phlebotomy certification exams, are not included and must be purchased separately.
